The Blastolene B-702 Is An Exceptional Handmade Roadster

Designed and created by Blastolene Brothers, the Blastolene B-702 is a 19.5 feet long and 94 inches wide handmade roadster enthused by French cars of the 1930s. Michael Leeds and Randy Grubb used a nickel-plated chassis to construct this huge machine.

Under the hood of the Blastolene B-702 is an 11.0L GM V12 petrol engine, also famous by the name “Twin-Six”. General Motors created it for its mid-size trucks six decades back. The engine pumps out a huge 650 pounds-feet of torque at just 850 rpm.

“Although the design is obviously European, the B-702 claims to be uniquely American,” mentioned Randy Grubb. “We borrowed the beautiful French curves and the classic essence of the Bugattis and Delahayes from the 1930s. We paired them with a gigantic 11L engine. This leads to the American version of these great classics. ”

The Blastolene B-702 appeared at numerous auto shows and impressed the crowd for its finest craftsmanship. The roadster was sold during 2015 Scottsdale auction for $550,000.

This Six-wheel Steam-Powered Boattail Roadster Is A Carefully Crafted Steam Machine

Today, we have an amazing six-wheeled steam-powered Boattail roadster for you, made by motorhead, Jim Belosic. Created in about four years, this steampunk uses a bare 1928 Ford Model A-frame and a two-cylinder steam engine. Apart from these parts, everything else is custom-built by Belosic.

The creator employed a 3.5-gallon boiler and two 400k-BTU burners to generate steam. The engine only generates 5 horsepower, so you can imagine how fast it can go with this much power.

The good thing is the car is street legal in Nevada, so if you plan to buy it, you can surely run it. But mind it, this is not your everyday car that can start and run with the push of a button. Its boiler needs to heat up for a good 45 minutes before it can run. And when it runs, it sips the fuel at a very fast rate; the 21-gallon reserve tank vanishes in just a 3-mile drive.

Meet the classic 1949 Delahaye 175 S Saoutchik roadster built by Saoutchik for Concours circuit. The iconic 2-seat supercar was a sight to behold when it was first produced. Later it came under the possession of the English movie star Diana Dors.

What’s unique about the Delahaye was its contemporary beautification. You can see its wheels are almost hidden and its front has puzzling elements, which are completely contrary to our modern cars. The chrome was the name of the game during the time of its production, so it does feature this element at most places.

For almost four decades, the 1949 Delahaye 175 S Saoutchik roadster remained buried in a garage. In 2006, its owner made some efforts to source its main parts to rebuild it. Afterward, the car got its original engine and was presented for auction at Sports & Classics of Monterey with an approximated price of $4,000,000-$6,000,000 USD.
